Crane-ready frames in North Florida

A frame designed for an overhead bridge crane.

Crane-ready frames in North Florida: what to know

A crane building starts from the crane. Its capacity, span, duty and hook height set the column size, the brackets that carry the runway beams, and the bracing that resists the crane pulling and braking along the bay. Lighter top-running or underhung cranes can hang from or ride on brackets on the main frame; heavier ones usually get separate crane columns. The runway beams, rails and stops are part of the steel design, and the foundations under crane columns are sized for the combined crane and wind loads.
